DESCRIPTION:Join us at our General Meeting on April 10th where environmental planner Ed Almanza will speak on “Bringing the Lagoon Back to Laguna.” \nEd Almanza\, is the Vice-Chair of the Laguna Ocean Foundation project and manager of the Aliso Creek Estuary Restoration Project and has coordinated the Laguna Shorebird Survey. Aliso Creek feeds into the ocean at Aliso Beach. As a professional environmental planner\, his work focuses on the science of habitat management and natural resource conservation. The multi-level estuary effort is designed to engage the public in the expansion of the wetland habitat for all creatures to enjoy. \nHis professional work focuses on implementing the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the science of habitat management. He has authored dozens of environmental documents for local municipalities in Orange County. Mr. Almanza earned a Master’s Degree in Geography at UCSB with a thesis that analyzed methods for monitoring water quality in Mono Lake\, California. A native southern Californian\, Mr. Almanza first moved to Laguna Beach in 1971. \nJoin us from 9:30-10:00 a.m. for social time and refreshments\, the meeting begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Meetings are held at Laguna Presbyterian Church in Tankersley Hall located at 415 Forest Avenue\, Laguna Beach\, Ca. Non-members are invited to attend for free on their first visit. \nPlease\, no parking in the Church parking lot. Plenty of street parking is available. \nQuestions?
