It is a magnificent garden on 87 acres. Many plants will be blooming and there is a special exhibition called\, Washed Ashore\, which is included with admission. \nSpeaking of admission\, they now require all tickets be bought in advance. It is 11$ for seniors (62+) and 15$ for adults.  We need a headcount (including whether you are a senior or not) by Wednesday in order to buy our tickets. Don’t delay! Luxury VIP Buses will transport you to the start of the tour where you will stroll through a masterfully curated set of gardens in local neighborhoods. \nThe festive event will offer artisanal margaritas and Mexican fare for sale\, as well as free spectacular homemade baked goods and refreshments. In addition to being able to enjoy plein air painters in several gardens you can participate in a raffle of prizes from local artists and businesses. Through artful photography\, Krystle strives to increase awareness of the decline in native bee species as well as highlight their biodiverse ecosystems. Her photography has been featured in The LA Times\, children’s books\, and scientific journals. \nKrystle works with gardens like the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Arlington Garden\, regularly photographing and documenting their native habitats. She also collects data on rare bee species in the Mojave Desert\, Joshua Tree\, Anza-Borrego\, the Santa Monica Mountains\, yards with native gardens\, and more. \nShe was awarded a National Geographic Explorer grant in 2023 to create a book that features original photographs and documents rare native bees throughout California. Come have a great time marching in the City’s annual Patriots’ Day Parade. Our garden club has participated for over 40 years and won many awards\, including three 1st Place trophies.   You can carry our banners or signs\, dance with our “Rakettes” drill team\,  hand out Gate & Garden Tour postcards or simply march. \nHave fun\, support the community and help raise awareness of our club and what we do. It’s a wonderful event with 80+ groups marching; half the city is in the parade and the other half is watching! Remember\, marching with our club is camaraderie\, fun\, and all downhill! Check your calendars and sign up at the February meeting. \nWe will assemble at 10 am in the parking lot opposite Laguna Beach High School\, 625 Park Ave. Please be prompt\, the parade starts at 11 am\, the downhill route is one mile through downtown Laguna Beach\, and we will finish at about 1 pm. The winning song will be determined by applause. \nFor those in attendance\, Laguna Beach County Water District will be offering a bee themed reusable grocery bag to the first 100 attendees.
