April 2025 “Ladies of Laguna” featured for the Gate & Garden Tour
On April 4, 2024, StuNews (Volume 17, Issue 27) published an article features our “Ladies of Laguna.” Each year our Gate & Garden Tour director chooses several women who embody the spirit of service that the club represents and honors them with this title. This year’s “Ladies of Laguna” are Laura Ford, founder of the Pollinator Protection Fund, Simone Adams, co-manager of the Friends of the Library Butterfly Fairy Garden,, Amy Amirani, LBCWD Commissioner, and Ally Cook, milliner/owner of Lucky Cowboy and the committee chair for the tour’s annual Garden Hat Contest.
March 2025 Gate & Garden Tour in Local News
On March 28, 2025, StuNews (Volume 17, Issue 26) published an article about the club’s annual Gate & Garden Tour which profiles Mike Pyle, co-host of HGTV’s Inside Out who’s home will be featured in this years tour. Pyle is a landscape designer who grew up in Laguna Beach. He has very generously donated a $10,000 gift certificate for design consultation that will be part of the raffle held on tour day.
March 2025 Laguna Beach Independent Announces March Speaker
The March 14, 2025 issue of the Laguna Beach Independent announces our March Speaker, production designer Nelson Coates, who will be speaking on the impact of plants and gardens on film.
November 2024 Laguna Beach Independent Covers Grant to OCC College
The November 22nd, 2024 issue of the Laguna Beach Independent (Volume 21, Issue 47) highlights our grant to the Orange Coast College Horticulture Department. Back in August some of our board members toured the Horticulture Lab at OCC and presented the department with a $1,500 grant to help provide needed tools and supplies. This grant is in line with Laguna Beach Garden Club’s mission to further education for local youth in horticulture, agriculture, and sustainability for the future.
November 2024 LAM Art + Nature Fashion Show featured in LA Times Daily Pilot
On November 15, 2024 the LA Times Daily Pilot published an article on the Laguna Art Museum’s Art + Nature Fashion Show. This up cycled couture fashion show invited students and faculty from local colleges and universities to design fashion that reflects the mission statements of various LAM community partners as a kick-off for its 12th annual Art + Nature Initiative. Student designer, Erica Patapoff, created a gorgeous gown for the Laguna Beach Garden Club. Several of our members were it attendance. (Photo by James Carbone)
