Gratitude & Generosity
Dear Members,
Happy May!!! I love this time of year. The weather is more warm than cool, and it’s Keenan celebration time. Bob and I both have birthdays over the summer and our wedding anniversary. Plus, Tripp’s “Gotcha Day” is in July. So much to look forward to.
Before all that, right now, I have so much for which to be grateful. It has been an amazing and wonderful honor serving as your President. Thank you for your support, for the laughter and for your many contributions to our beautiful Laguna Beach Garden Club. It is a special club with the best, warmest and most friendly people. I joined hoping to make a few friends and gosh, mission accomplished.
There are three people I must thank out loud (in writing): Nancy Englund, Patty Gaffney and Lynn Jax. Each provided enormous personal support to me and of course to this club.
We’ve had a record-breaking year in terms of funds donated to our community projects, school gardens, and in scholarships. In part this is because the main donations from you, our members, from your support of our raffles at meetings and of course from the success of our Gate & Garden Tour. The tour is a team effort to be sure. However, the team is led by a wonderfully organized and dedicated leader, Susan Denton. Be sure to say “Thanks” to Susan and thank you to all of you participated in any way.
My garden is happy and blooming with flowers. I transitioned from all succulents to some flowering pollinator plants, and it’s made the hummingbirds, bees and me very happy. Also, the native milkweed I planted last year came back this year. I thought it was gone, but it showed up and has spread and it is ready to bloom. Yes, I am smiling.
