Delighted and Grateful
What will bring you delight in November? Likely spending time with friends and family over the Thanksgiving dinner table is on your list. What are you grateful for? I’m grateful to be a member of a caring Club, spreading delight and support to our very own Laguna Food Pantry to help those in need.
The mission of the Food Pantry is to serve our neighbors in need by providing free, nutritious groceries and connecting them to resources to improve their lives. Their vision is an Orange County community where families in need have nutritious food and live healthier and improved lives with the belief that no one should go hungry. Each of you help make this happen!
It’s my delight to deliver the egg cartons to the Food Pantry each month that you bring to our membership meeting. Last week I had the help of the Pantry’s Executive Director, Anne Belyea unloading my trunk! Seeing her face light up as she removed the 126 cartons filled me with delight. The running total Sept-Oct is 307, saving them about $140.
For our November 10 meeting in addition to your empty egg cartons, please bring healthy and nutritious food for donation to the Pantry. Better yet, bring an old-fashioned check allowing them to purchase even more food at discounted, wholesale prices! Plus the checks fit into my “little red pony” easier. 😊 I’ll deliver the checks, egg cartons and food to the Pantry personally and you’ll receive a letter for your monetary donation from the Pantry for your taxes. Everyone wins!
