From Our President

Nancy Englund

Nancy Englund

Every month, the President of the Board heads our general meeting and leads off with a personal message. The monthly President’s Message provides insight into the vision and goals of our club leader, who guides the organization for two terms.

The message is always informational and often inspirational, and we publish them here throughout the year.

Come to one of our regular meetings to hear the President’s Message in person! Meetings are held on the second Friday of the month, September – May, at 9:30 am in Laguna Presbyterian Church, Tankersley Hall, 415 Forest Avenue.

President’s Message, March 2021

Welcome to March, the month when we look forward to daylight savings time and the start of spring. I feel so lucky to live in Southern California where the flowers never stop blooming and our winters are mild. I’ve been spending an hour a day planting and cleaning up the garden in front of my home. One of my favorite native plants is a Dudleya that I’m growing. It is a beautiful bluish-green succulent that loves sunshine and is ready to bloom flowers soon!

President’s Message, February 2021

I love Valentine’s Day! My husband of 34 years has never missed a year of gifting me with flowers or in more recent years a beautiful plant or two. We go out to dinner and celebrate each other. I love the wonderful tradition our garden club has of members creating beautiful planters and then donating them to be auctioned to all members present at our February meeting to raise funds for our philanthropic activities.

President’s Message, December 2020

December Greetings Dear Garden Club Members. I hope everyone enjoyed a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and that you are busy preparing for the next holidays, including a new year that will allow us to meet in person at some point — hopefully soon! Come on 2021, we are so ready for you!!

President’s Message, October 2020

Welcome, October! Autumn has arrived, and cooler temperatures are finding their way to us every passing day. And yet, Laguna Beach is not as we expect it. Many of us are spending more time in our homes than we would prefer, and we miss seeing many of our friends in-person.
