On March 8, 2024, StuNews (Volume 16, Issue 20) published an article on the our Willey Bee Mural kick-off celebration that was held at the Rivian Theater on February 16th where Matt gave a presentation raising awareness of his The Good of The Hive® initiative.
February 2024 “Love Letter” Mural in Progress
On February 16, 2024, StuNews (Volume 16, Issue 14) published an article on the progress of the Matt Willey Bee Mural, our “Love Letter” to Laguna Beach. He has had to overcome some real weather challenges since beginning work on the project.
February 2024 The Club Launches “Love Letter” to Laguna Beach
On February 6, 2024, StuNews, StuNews (Volume 16, Issue 12) published an article detailing the launch of the Matt Willey Bee Mural. The kickoff will be on February 9 when Willey, founder of “The Good of the Hive®” arrives in town to begin transforming the LBCWD wall into a beautiful work of art.
January 2024 Public Invitation to our Valentine Open House Plant & Planter Sale
On January 26, 2024, StuNews (Volume 16, Issue 9) published an article inviting the public to the Laguna Beach Garden Club annual Valentine Open House and Plant & Planter Sale at our upcoming general meeting on Friday, February 9th beginning at 9:30AM at Laguna Presbyterian Church in Tankersley Hall located at 415 Forest Ave. Also at this year’s Open House, two Master Gardeners will present information and answer your gardening questions. And our special guest, world-renowned muralist Matt Willey, will stop by to say, “hello,” as he begins work on the mural that the Laguna Beach Garden Club has commissioned.
January 2024 LBGC Participates in Storytime Saturday at LAM
On January 16, 2024, StuNews (Volume 16, Issue 5) published an article about upcoming March events at the Laguna Art Museum including Storytime Saturday on Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. This month selection is Give Bees a Chance by Bethany Barton. In partnership with Laguna Beach Garden Club, kids will participate in activities that encourage them to appreciate the creatures in nature, specifically bees.
