Mike Pyle crew works on renovating the rose garden soil

We’ve been busy bees in the LPC Rose Garden.  In March, the rose garden underwent some big renovations.   Mike Pyle of Mike Pyle Design and Consulting assisted is in fixing the failing irrigations system and rejuvenating the soil. Mike generously donated his talent and expertise along with his landscape crew who spent an entire day digging up the compacted soil around the roses, breaking it up, and completely replacing the irrigation system. The irrigation has been an ongoing challenge for us, and updating it was no small task.  Mike is a local landscape designer and contractor and is the former co-host of HGTV’s ‘Inside Out.’  He has been a great friend to our club, LBGC team works on mulching the rose garden.putting his house on our Gate & Garden tour last year and donating $10K of design consulting for our tour raffle.  He is a sponsor of this year’s tour as well.

Also, Tierra Verde Industries in Irvine generously donated and delivered 4 cubic yards of excellent quality mulch (valued at $500).  Some of our dedicated Garden Club crew—Paul Wenger, Brian Jones, Ty Hatfield, and Kari Nies— along with church property manager Jordan Johnson spent several hours spreading the mulch throughout the newly refreshed rose beds.

With all this care and effort, we’re hopeful the roses will thrive and reward us with beautiful blooms this year!
